A welcoming community that provides workplace experiences, skills development and mentorship for underserved young adults and emancipated foster youth.
Our mentors are partnered with underserved young adults to teach them skills related to classic car restoration and media arts. Our commitment is to provide our young people with hands-on training and life skills, offering them community, hope and a brighter future.
How It Werks
-
Vehicle Restoration
Our Vehicle Restoration Program offers the apprentice a step-by-step instruction through a comprehensive restoration and repair curriculum from professional mechanical technicians. This includes mechanics, electrical wiring, auto body repair, upholstery, working with outside restoration specialists, business management and much more.
-
Media Arts
Our Media Arts Program offers the apprentice an opportunity to learn photography, videography, editing, and writing. We offer mentorship as well as Media Arts Werkshops taught by professional photographers. In our creative studio they use both cameras and phones to photograph, film, edit with software and utilize marketing strategies through various social platforms.

Our Mission
At DSF Werks we are committed to building a supportive community that empowers BIPOC and other underserved youth aged 18-24. This includes emancipated foster youth, transition-age youth, justice-involved youth, and those facing housing insecurity throughout Los Angeles County. Our approach encompasses workplace experiences, educational skills development, vocational training, internships, mentorship, and media arts. By providing these essential resources and support, we aim to help these young individuals thrive to improve their well-being. Understanding the unique challenges faced by adolescents aging out of the foster care system and those from low-income communities, our mission is to prevent homelessness and incarceration by equipping them with the tools and opportunities necessary to build stable, successful futures.
DSF Werks is a Drive Savant Foundation project and a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
